The Missoula Sunrise Movement sponsored a visit to Senator Jon Tester’s office on Tuesday, February 26 in downtown Missoula. About 15 came dressed for the cold day after the worst storm of the season. They were asking Senator Tester to support of the Green New Deal. The action was one of dozens this week througout the country.
In a matter of weeks, the New Green Deal has gone from an idea, a vague longing for a World War II mobilization to fight climate change, to a congressional resolution backed by more than sixty represenatives and numerous senators, including those who are running for president.
The Montana Public Service Commission held a session for public testimony about NorthWestern Energy’s planned procurements a on Friday January 18 in Helena. Testimony was given by legislators, clean energy advocates, residents of Colstrip, and other interested parties to a crowd of over 100 people.
On Tuesday, December 11, the Sierra Club, MEIC, and 350 Montana sponsored a program about energy at the Doubletree Inn in Missoula Montana. Brian Fadie presented essential information for understanding the problems we face with NorthWestern Energy. See his speech.
