On October 4, 2019, the U.S. State Department issued a draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) for the Keystone XL Pipeline. This new SEIS resulted from Northern Plains’ successful lawsuit ruling in November of 2018. Friday Sept 27, after a week of Climate Strike activites, people from Butte, Dillon, Drummond, Missoula, and Superior descended on the NorthWestern corporate office in Butte , demanding that NorthWestern move energy generation to 100% renewables.
