Join us on June 8 to Stop the Era of Fossil Fuels!

350 Montana has been working with a national People vs Fossil Fuels coalition as well as the 350 Network Council to pressure Biden to take bold climate action and stop the sacrifice of frontline, Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities to the greed of Big Oil and Gas.

Starting this June and leading up to September, will be taking action with key national and international partners to make it clear that siding with Big Oil is a political liability for his 2024 re-election.

A key piece of this escalation arc will be distributed actions the week of June 8th -11th 2023. During this week local groups will be taking bold, creative, and disruptive actions to lift up their local fights against oil and gas developments.

The Missoula action will be on June 8 from 12-2 at the courthouse on Broadway. Speakers will includeJan Hoem, an active member of MELT (Montana Elders for a Livable Tomorrow) who self-published a climate quarterly with her husband for years. We’ll also hear some climate poetry from Sam Robison, a graduate of UM’s MFA program who currently works as a small-scale sustainable farmer with his partner in St. Ignatius. More speakers to be announced soon!

Biden continues to approve new fossil fuel leases while grassroots groups around the country are fighting new pipelines, permits, and fossil fuel plants. To stop the worst effects of the climate crisis we have to stop new fossil fuel projects NOW, transition to renewable energy, and bring justice to the communities most impacted by fossil fuels. We are all fighting local fights against oil and gas developments: Our fight for climate justice is connected, and Biden is one target we have in common.
