There are two events coming up that we think many of you will find worthwhile.
Non-violent Direct Action Training

University Congregational Church (UCC)

Hey Missoula activists! Join us for a day of training and discussion on non-violent direct action. All welcome, whether you are new to activism or a seasoned veteran of NVDA.
Morning: Mark Anderlich of the Missoula Central Labor Council will give an overview of the history of non-violence. We’ll talk strategies for planning effective actions that take in to account both short term and long term goals.
Afternoon: Briefing on rights and risks. Break-out groups led by Will Genadek from Northern Rockies Rising Tide and Caitlin Piserchia of Reinvest will lead us in role play and other direct action scenarios.

The second is a conference organized by a group of students from Big Sky High School and promises to be an exciting and comprehensive program. These future leaders have done an outstanding job of signing up world class presenters for this event, including Noam Chomsky, Bill McKibben and Dr. Steven Running. No one should miss this one. June 12th thru June 16th.
